You’ve switched your wardrobe around for the new season or at least grabbed a few Autumn pieces from the back of your wardrobe. You’re looking at the garments thinking ‘What the hell did I wear last year’?
If that sounds familiar then help is at hand, but first, let’s have a look at why this might be.
If your ‘Autumn’ wardrobe has left you feeling as underwhelmed as a cold cup of tea and struggling to feel good in your outfits, it could be one of these five reasons:
1) Your lifestyle has changed – Are you working more days in the office, socialising more, or juggling a busier schedule? Your day-to-day life may look different from last year, and your wardrobe needs to catch up.
2) You have a new role – Whether you’ve been promoted, joined a new company, or started your own business, each new chapter in your career deserves a wardrobe that reflects your confidence and professionalism.
3) Your body shape has changed – Weight loss/gain, midlife hormones and peri-menopause can all alter your shape. If your clothes don’t fit you will not feel good in them so dress for the shape you are now.
4) Fashions have changed – Even subtle updates in style, proportion or texture can make older pieces feel dated. What felt chic two years ago can suddenly look a little tired when worn against new-season trends.
5) You’re stuck in your comfort zone – if you’ve been wearing similar outfits for a while you are probably craving a refresh. You find your ‘go-to’ outfit no longer makes you feel good. I often see this with clients and it is because your tastes evolve over time. Maybe you’re craving a sharper, more polished look for work, or perhaps you want a less formal, more relaxed feel.
