By popular demand, this month’s edit is about coats.
Every wardrobe needs a coat. When there’s a chill in the air it’s the one garment we all reach for. A coat will make or break your Winter outfit so choosing the right one for you is a crucial task.
What’s the best coat to buy?
I’m asked this question more than any other at this time of year; with good reason as finding the right style for you can be daunting given the amount of choice around.
This season the ‘hot’ coat styles beloved by the fashion press are scarf coats (great if you always like to wear a scarf), wraps (classic style but doesn’t suit all body shapes) and shearling (bit Del Boy or is that just me?).
Choosing the right coat for you
Don’t settle for the ‘safe’ style you always wear or chase the latest trends. Instead focus on finding a style that makes you feel fabulous! That might be a timeless classic, a bold pattern or a bright shade.
Ensure you choose a fabric you feel comfortable wearing. I personally prefer lightweight double faced coats to heavy tweeds but you might be the opposite. Spend as much of your budget as you can on a quality garment as it is worth the ‘cost per wear’ investment.
To help you choose, here are five fabulous coats I’ve bought recently with clients:-
